I am the Patient and Public Engagement Manager for the Oxford BRC, which means I focus on the strategic management and implementation of both digital and traditional marketing, including events, to empower engagement with our patient and public audiences, researchers and wider stakeholders. I work closely with all teams within the Oxford BRC and the Communications Teams across the NIHR infrastructures, Oxford University Hospitals and Oxford University.
I have a Business and Management degree (Bradford Management School and Tilburg University, Netherlands) – where I won the 3M Business Award, a Diploma in Digital Marketing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Leadership from the Chartered Institute of Marketing – where I have chartered membership – and a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
In addition, I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and have a particular interest in clinical psychology, including women’s and children’s health, dementia, positive psychology and lifestyle medicine.
I have over 30 years’ experience in business and marketing and have worked across various private industries including retail and manufacturing in senior leadership roles including Head of Marketing and as owner-director of two start-up companies. In the public sector, I’ve worked in education as Digital Marketing lecturer, parent and community school governor and Data Information Officer for the NHS. In addition, I have worked in marketing for Save the Children UK, generating over £120k through various fundraising campaigns.
A keen community volunteer, I thoroughly enjoyed being a Scout Leader for several years and also a member of several performing arts groups. As a charity fundraiser, I have trekked 26 miles across Sailsbury plains for Alzheimer’s Society and additional sports challenges for Alzheimer’s Research and Cancer Research. Singing, yoga, hiking and forest bathing are my downtime and de-stress favourites.
