Our next BRC

Expressions of Interest for Themes

NIHR have recently announced their intention to fund another round of BRCs.

As part of our preparation for this we are inviting Expressions of Interest for Themes to potentially be included in the new Oxford BRC (see timeline below).

Applications will only be accepted from researchers employed by the University of Oxford or Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Expressions of Interest should be submitted to Jennifer Anderson (Jennifer.Anderson@ouh.nhs.uk) by 13:00 on Friday 22 May.

The BRC Oxford Steering Committee will review all of the EOIs and use them to shape the structure of the next BRC. Initial decisions on Expressions of Interest will be communicated in mid-July.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss further please contact Jennifer Anderson, Head of Operations (Jennifer.Anderson@ouh.nhs.uk).

Expressions of Interest for Deputy Director

We are looking for a Deputy Director to work with the current Director (Prof. Helen McShane) on the application for the next BRC. The expectation is that the Deputy will become the Director of the new BRC during its first year.

This is a vital leadership role tasked with developing the strategic direction and major research priorities for the BRC, taking advantage of strategic opportunities to develop new programmes of translational research, including cross-disciplinary initiatives.

The role also includes developing national collaborations and being part of national networks, including an effective BRC Directors group. This is vital to facilitate working alongside NIHR to ensure the value and importance of the BRC funding remains central to NIHR research strategy.
