Volunteers needed for home blood pressure monitoring study

Posted 5 June 2025 · Listed under Heart

We are looking for healthy volunteers, aged 60 years and over, to take part in our study. You need to have a smartphone, have good Wi-Fi or mobile phone network coverage at home and live in Oxfordshire.

You will not be able to join if your blood pressure is very high. However, you may join if you are taking blood pressure tablets and your blood pressure is well controlled. You will not be able to join if you are taking sleeping tablets. You will not be able to join if you cannot wear a monitoring chest patch, reasons for this may include allergies and having a pacemaker.

Taking part would involve:

  • An initial visit in person (discuss the study, check your blood pressure and ask some questions about your health, roughly 1 hour)
  • 2 weeks of you or someone you know monitoring your blood pressure at home
  • A questionnaire about your experiences (roughly 15 minutes)
  • An optional group discussion about your experiences of monitoring your BP and the App used in the study (roughly 60-90 minutes)
