The Oxford Biomedical Research Centre is looking for a patient representative for its Steering Committee.
What’s involved:
• Working with staff, researchers and other patient representatives to improve research.
• About 15 meetings per year plus other opportunities.
• Every month there is a meeting at 8am, usually online, sometimes in person.
• £25 per hour plus expenses.
We are looking for someone:
• With experience providing a patient perspective in health research.
• Who likes working with others in a friendly and positive way.
• Who is keen to take up opportunities for training.
• Living in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Buckinghamshire.
While we are particularly looking for a patient representative from a community that is currently under-represented in health research, we encourage all applications.
Under-represented groups include: carers, Black, African, Asian and Caribbean communities, LGBT+ communities, people with disabilities or long-term conditions and younger adults (18–30 years old) or those 70 years and above.
The reason for particularly looking for a patient representative from one of the communities listed above is is that they are currently under-represented in health research and may be more vulnerable to some health conditions.
The role is until December 2027.
Reimbursement
£25 per hour plus expenses. Travel expenses for in-person meetings. Care replacement or carer costs. Online data costs.
