Help us shape the future of palliative care by sharing your voice.
We are looking to create a diverse pool of people who are interested in contributing to research, education, service evaluation and improvement. This includes patients, carers, bereaved families, supporters and the public. Your voice is crucial in helping us to improve palliative care locally and beyond. Join us in making a meaningful impact.
We would appreciate PPI contributors who have life limiting illness or their loved ones, or bereaved loved ones.
However, death and dying are universal experiences that we will all face ourselves and with our loved ones. Therefore, we feel everyone has something to contribute to this important topic. Some projects may be more restrictive in their criteria, but we would like pool participants to represent a broad swathe of Oxfordshire.
We would love to have a diverse pool especially including people who face inequities in palliative care, including:
- An ageing population, living with frailty and dementia
- LGBTQ+ people
- People experiencing homelessness
- People living with learning disabilities
- People living with non-malignant conditions
- People living in poverty, deprivation, and with lower socioeconomic status
- People living in remote and rural areas
- Racialised communities
Once participants sign up for the pool, we will email them quarterly with projects seeking PPI input. Our hope is to have a range of projects in each newsletter from short questionnaires to focus groups or workshops to serving on a project steering committee. Participation will be online and in-person.
Reimbursement
We will reimburse all expenses and encourage all projects to compensate for people's time in line with NIHR guidance levels.
