AIM Day 2018 – Biomedical Imaging
Prof William James and Dr Martin Kerr introduce AIM Day 2018, held at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. AIM days bring together experts from Academia and Industry to meet and discuss the latest developments and challenges in their field, helping to solve problems, foster engagement between the two and encourage potential collaborations. The theme of this meeting was biomedical imaging, particularly with regard to big data and how best to analyse the vast amounts of information gathered. Through the discussions held on AIM Days such as these, the research conducted by universities can find itself applied by industrial partners, eventually ending up in clinical settings and thus improving the medical outcomes for patients.
