An article by a leading Oxford researcher has outlined the guiding principles on how general practitioners should conduct remote consultations with patients who are suspected of having COVID-19.
The article, published in the BMJ, is by Prof Trish Greenhalgh (pictured), the Oxford BRC Theme Lead for Partnerships for Health, Wealth and Innovation, and a Professor of Primary Care at the University of Oxford.
It outlines the pros and cons of conducting a telephone or video appointment, how to assess whether a patient has COVID-19 remotely, and considerations about arranging follow-up assessments.
