WATCH: Public talk on the latest research tackling blood diseases like leukaemia

25 February 2013 · Listed under Other News

In this Oxford Biomedical Research Centre public talk, Senior Research Fellow Dr Adam Mead outlines the pioneering research within Oxford Biomedical Research Centre’s Blood theme and how it’s helping to tackle diseases including leukaemia.

Research also covers  lymphoma and other red blood cell disorders and our teams are also developing state of the art blood transfusion and genetic testing.

The National Institute for Health Research Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, a collaboration between Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and Oxford University, is staging a programme of free public talks throughout 2013.

Leading researchers in fields such as heart disease, leukaemia, stroke and chronic kidney disease will discuss the latest developments, key challenges and future projects.

Oxford BRC is investing more than £100m over the next five years to accelerate basic scientific discoveries into new treatments.
