The Thames Valley and Surrey Secure Data Environment (TVS SDE, Thames Valley and Surrey – Health and care data) is an NHS-based platform that allows approved researchers to securely access de-identified health data for research. We continue to work with the public and health and care staff to make sure that our processes are informed by their views. For example, recent projects explored views on data use with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, and with people who had experienced homelessness.
In a digital, international, and increasingly AI age, the people and systems we work with could be anywhere in the world. Can you help us to explore what’s important about the ideas of sovereignty in relation to data and data systems? Help us answer questions about how sovereignty could, or should, be applied to NHS secure data environments, care and research.
We are hosting a coproduction workshop on Monday 5 October at Norman Bragg Studio, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (HP20 1UG), 10.00–15.30 and would very much like you to join us. Please sign up using the Eventbrite link here. The deadline for responses is Friday 2 October.
The workshop will last 5.5 hours and we anticipate sending a short briefing paper which should take no longer than 30 minutes to read, so a total of 6 hours. There is the opportunity to be involved in wider / future coproduction work within the TVS SDE too.
