BRC Education Working Group reception

16 August 2010 · Listed under Other News

Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (OxBRC) funded research fellows attended an evening reception on 30 July in the atrium of the Richard Doll Building, Churchill Hospital.

The event hosted by Professor Keith Channon, OxBRC Director and Dr Ken Fleming, Director of OUCAGS & Associate Dean Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Education Working Group (EWG) was designed to bring research students together from across clinical specialties to share experiences, advice, and ideas.

The Oxford Biomedical Research Centre is a partnership between the University of Oxford and the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Trust established to undertake translational research for patient benefit. Its remit includes building the research capacity of the NHS and it has recently been asked to work with the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) on an educational strategy. To take this forward it has, in collaboration with Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS), formed the BRC Education Working Group (EWG).

OUCAGS was founded in partnership with the Oxford Deanery and NHS Education South Central to promote and advance clinical academic careers.http://www.oucags.ox.ac.uk
