We are looking for help to spread the word about our study on how young people manage common infections such as colds, flu, coughs and sore throats. We are seeking help from individuals, groups and organisations who have connections with young people aged 18–24 across the UK. This includes:
- Parents, carers and family members of young people and professionals working with young adults.
- Informal networks such as friendship groups, peer networks, community groups and social media communities.
For this study, eligible participants are young people aged 18–24 who have experienced these symptoms (of colds, flu, coughs or sore throats) within the past year, and sought advice or care from a healthcare professional (e.g. GP, pharmacist, NHS 111, or similar).
You can help by:
- Sharing the flyer through your networks (e.g. email lists, newsletters, social media, community groups, universities or youth organisations)
- Circulating it to colleagues, students, or young people you work with
- Displaying it in relevant settings if appropriate
Any support with sharing the flyer would be greatly appreciated and will help us ensure a wide range of voices are included in this research.

Who we are looking for as participants
We welcome participation from eligible and interested individuals of all backgrounds, including those from ethnic minority communities and other under-represented groups, such as those from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and those with lived experience of health conditions, housing instability, or other forms of disadvantage. This is important because experiences of managing common infections and accessing healthcare may vary depending on factors such as cultural background, socioeconomic circumstances, and access to services. Our aim is to reach a diverse range of young people from different backgrounds and experiences.
Eeligible participants are young people aged 18–24 who have experienced symptoms of colds, flu, coughs or sore throats within the past year, and sought advice or care from a healthcare professional (e.g. GP, pharmacist, NHS 111, or similar).
Taking part involves a one-off interview (30–45 minutes), online or in person, and participants will receive a £30 voucher as a thank you.
To express an interest in participating, please fill in this form.

Reimbursement
£30 for all interview participants.
