      Notes

Funding represents annualised values, apportioned to the cardiovascular HRCS (Health Research Classification System) health category weighting of the individual awards. To compare funding activity across the UKCRC reports, figures were adjusted for inflation using GDP Deflators issued by the HM Treasury. This mapping exercise focused on grants and funding with a specific cardiovascular focus within the research aims and therefore only included grants/funding with a cardiovascular HRCS weighting of at least 33%.

Data taken from the UK Health Research Analysis 2014, 2018 and 2022 (UK Clinical Research Collaboration, 2015, 2019, 2023) https://hrcsonline.net/reports/analysis-reports/
