NIHR-BHF Covid-19 Flagship Project underpins study to understand the link between COVID-19 vaccines and rare blood clots

Cathie Sudlow is Director of the BHF Data Science Centre and leads one of the NIHR-BHF COVID-19 Cardiovascular Disease UK Flagship Projects. In an interview with UK Research and Innovation, she talks about how the CVD-COVID-UK Flagship Project is helping to rapidly respond to the emergence of rare side effects to COVID vaccines. Framework for COVID-19 research

Working with the British Heart Foundation and the BHF Clinical Research Collaborative, we set up an initiative to identify and prioritise large scale research projects focusing on COVID-19 and Cardiovascular Disease. For information and links to the projects, see Framework for COVID-19 research on the British Heart Foundation website.


Cardiovascular Working Group of the Post-hospitalisation COVID-19 study (PHOSP-COVID)

Professor Gerry McCann (University of Leicester) chairs the Cardiovascular Working Group of the PHOSP-COVID Consortium, on behalf of the NIHR-BHF Cardiovascular Partnership. The group works to i) align studies focused on COVID-19 and Cardiovascular Diseases, ii) identify research priority questions iii) assess and advice on PHOSP data and sample requests for cardiovascular research.
