Would you like to help shape health and care research?

Posted 4 November 2026 · Listed under Other

We are looking for new public members to join our PPI governance public contributors as members of our Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) and the ARC Strategy Board.

We are looking for three people to join our Strategy Board and up to four people to join our LEAP group. We are looking for a broad range of lived experience of health conditions to join our existing group. We are keen to recruit people who:

• understand and value others’ views.
• know about health or care from personal/carer experience.
• are comfortable sharing their thoughts in a group.
• live in the Thames Valley area.
• are able to join regular meetings.
• can use email and online meeting tools (like Zoom or Teams).

We are particularly keen to hear from younger people and those from LGBTQ+ communities as these communities are under-represented in our group. We want to ensure our approaches to inclusive involvement and research reflect the needs of those who might be at risk of their views not being heard.

The time commitment varies depending on the activities you choose to get involved with, but on average it is likely to be between half a day and one day per month.

If you are interested, please look at our recruitment pack and application form, which has more information about the roles.

Reimbursement

We offer NIHR rates and expenses are covered including travel, care costs, online meeting costs etc. You will receive £27.50 per hour for attending and contributing to meetings and for other activities related to this role. When meetings are in person, travel expenses, in line with the policy of the University of Oxford, will be reimbursed, and for virtual meetings a £5 allowance will be provided to contribute to the costs of your device, internet usage etc.
