Oxford BRC again achieves ISO 9001 audit success

6 April 2021 · Listed under Other News

Following an external audit, the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) has again been successfully certified to the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The audit of the BRC’s funding Management System was carried out by the UKAS-accredited British Assessment Bureau.

Achieving the ISO 9001:2015 standard means that an organisation has excellent quality management systems in place; it also confirms a strong customer focus and continuous improvement to an International standard.

Dr Lorna Henderson, the BRC’s Senior Manager, said: “ISO 9001 certification is a highly respected and globally recognised standard. The close examination of how the BRC operates in all areas ensures we have a culture of continuous improvement. This process also requires strong attention to meeting the requirements of our funders, the NIHR, ensuring we have rigorous systems in place.”
