Professor Kazem Rahimi, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Population Health, University of Oxford
High blood pressure and type 2 diabetes are not only two common causes of premature death and disability, they often affect the same people during their life-time. But what is the link between them?
Professor Rahimi’s talk will look at his research into whether lowering blood pressure can also help with the prevention of diabetes, and how much a person’s blood pressure or their treatment affects their risk of developing diabetes.
