How to imitate a pancreas
Monday 26 October 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
Next year marks the discovery centenary of insulin, revolutionising the care of people with type 1 diabetes. Explore how science has transformed what was once a rapidly fatal illness to a managed condition. Technological advances are helping people with diabetes mimic the action of their pancreas, from drugs to patches that deliver insulin via handheld devices. This talk examines how research has transformed lives.
