Doctoral Awards

The Oxford NIHR BRC will cover the fees of up to £3,500 for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals on a yearly basis studying for a PhD, DPhil, DNurs. or the professional doctorate. Learn more

Research Training Bursaries

The Oxford NIHR BRC provides funding of up to £3,500 for short courses or modules which will provide training and expertise in research skills or research management. The funding may be used towards a Masters degree but not a doctorate. Learn more

Small Grants

The Oxford NIHR BRC Small Grants scheme offers up to £25,000 to enable early career researchers to develop their careers and increase the impact of their work. All applicants should have recently completed a PhD or DPhil and priority will be given to candidates preparing to apply for a post-doctoral fellowship. Learn more

NIHR Development and Skills Enhancement Award (DSE)

The NIHR DSE award is a one year match funded award for post-doctoral NIHR Academy Members to gain specific skills and experience to support the next phase of their research career. Learn more on NIHR website

Medical Research Council Career Development Awards (CDA)

These awards help post-doctoral researchers to make the transition from post-doctoral researcher to independent investigator. Learn more on MRC website
