Oxford BRC Fellowships

The Oxford BRC is currently offering two fellowships programmes for researchers.

Preparatory Research Career Fellowships

This pre-doctoral award provides salary costs for six months full-time or up to one year part-time for nurses, midwives or allied health professionals working clinically or in a research capacity for the Oxford NHS Trust and/or the University of Oxford. Additional funds are available to cover specific research-related fees such as publication costs and training fees, including our Essential Research Skills training course. Learn more

Senior Research Fellowships

The NIHR Oxford BRC Senior Fellows Award scheme recognises and supports individuals with the potential and trajectory to become future leaders in translational research. The Senior Fellows receive an award of £10,000 a year for two years that can be used flexibly to facilitate their translational research programme and career development. Learn more


NIHR Fellowships

The NIHR now offer an annual Fellowship Programme for health care professionals including, nurses, midwives, allied healthcare professionals and doctors.  The new programme provides greater flexibility and expanded eligibility.

Advanced Fellowships

2-5 years funding for post-doctoral NIHR researchers. Learn more on NIHR website

Doctoral Fellowships

Three years funding to support individuals to undertake a PhD in an area of NIHR research. Learn more on NIHR website

Pre-Doctoral Fellowships

A one year award to support people who are looking to start or advance a career in health research methodology. Learn more on NIHR website

HEE/NIHR Clinical Lectureships

The non-medical clinical lectureship supports those in the early stages of their post-doctoral career who wish to establish themselves as independent clinical academic researchers. ICA Clinical Lecturers can spend up to 60% of their time on academic work. Learn more on NIHR website
