The sub-theme will develop economic and policy evidence of effects of promising imaging techniques emerging within the theme in support of their development and implementation in the NHS and beyond. New technologies often require increased resources and their implementation in clinical practice is importantly driven by evidence for their net effects on health and cost-effectiveness. Evaluating the effects of the diagnostic techniques on treatment pathways, health outcomes and healthcare resources will be focus of the work. Specific areas of interest include diagnostic and monitoring imaging techniques in cardiovascular and liver diseases.
