The aim of this sub-theme is to develop and clinically translate new measures of tissue health using Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning. A particular emphasis is on cerebrovascular health, the supply of blood to the brain, using methods that assess collateral flow in the brain, tissue metabolism, and blood flow reactivity and pulsatility.

This is part of a collaboration with Prof. Michael Chappell in the Oxford Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. James Kennedy in the Radcliffe Dept of Medicine, and Prof. Peter Rothwell in the Nuffield Dept of Clinical Neurosciences.
