The build-up of fat in the liver is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and it affects a quarter of UK adults. No drug is currently available to treat NAFLD.
I want to understand how GPs can best support people with NAFLD and obesity. I also aim to develop a structured weight loss programme to be delivered in the community for people with NAFLD.
You will be asked some questions on your lived experience of having been diagnosed with NAFLD and what sort of help/therapies you have been offered. You will be asked about your views on weight management and what you would like to see in a structured weight loss programme offered to people with NAFLD. Carers will be asked about their perspectives on these things.
A virtual meet-up via Zoom or a similar online platform can be arranged at your most convenient time (any time of the day).
You will be paid £25/hour for reimbursement (as per INVOLVE guidelines) and the call will be 20-40 minutes long approximately.
