Would you be interested in taking part in the HOPE-e research study of a tablet treatment for hand pain being carried out by
the University of Oxford and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre?
We are recruiting up to 90 women to take part in a research study of a drug treatment for hand pain.
If eligible to take part you would receive either:
- A tablet containing estrogen and bazedoxifene once daily for 6 months
- Placebo (inactive tablet) once daily for 6 months
The lead study doctor is Dr Fiona Watt. The study is being funded by the National Institute for Health Research, and is
being supported by the Centre for Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis Versus Arthritis.
Reasonable travel expenses for travelling to and from the hospital/clinic for study visits will be reimbursed.
We are recruiting for this study until end December 2020.
