SUMMARY:Debating Data; how\, why and when should your health data be used?
DESCRIPTION:Our health is important and so is the research that goes into keeping us healthy. \nDo you know how your medical data is being used and why? Are you happy for your data to be used in research? Are your cells as important to you as an image of your brain\, for example? Should these different types of data be used differently? \nWould you like to contribute to a fun and interesting one day event on 15th February 2020\, debating how medical data is used in healthcare and research? We will be presenting these cases to a public audience inside the Oxford Town Hall Council Chamber. \nWe need YOUR advice on these issues\, so please join us and have your say on what matters to you. This event is free; all travel expenses will be reimbursed and all catering is provided throughout the day.

SUMMARY:Patient and Public Involvement in Research Workshop: PPI and systematic reviews
DESCRIPTION:This is one of a series of Patient and Public Involvement Workshops we are running for patients and members of the public. Places are free but limited and you must register to attend. \nAbout this workshop\nA systematic review is a summary of findings from many individual studies looking at a particular research question. Although it may be difficult to see how to involve patients\, members of the public and carers\, it is increasingly accepted that doing so can add value at all stages of the process and has benefits for all concerned. \nThis practical workshop will give an overview of what is involved in carrying out a systematic review and how patients and members of the public can take part. It will be run by researchers from the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine and PPI contributors with experience of carrying out systematic reviews. \nRegister for the workshop
